You can add excitement and functionality to your web site
by utilizing some Java Scripts, some of which are user
friendly. So you must be careful about what you're using on
Take care when adding Java Scripts to your web site. Some
can crash browsers and/or computers. Crash a visitor's system
and they will never come back (unless they do a major upgrade).
So test your scripts with a variety of different browsers and
systems. In a perfect world a non-compatible script will be
invisible. The user doesn't even know it's there. An error
message is okay, as long as it doesn't cause the user's system
to hang and still gives them the ability to navigate your site.
Be selective about what scripts you use. Don't put scripts
into your site just because they're cool. Only use scripts that
enhance your site, not clutter it with meaningless stuff. Ask
yourself, "How can this make my site better?" If you
can come up with a couple good answers, or one really good
one, then it might be worth a try.
EXPERIMENTING CAN PRODUCE INTERACTIVITY
Interactivity is important to your site, and you can use your
experimenting with Java Scripts as an opportunity to create
interactivity by allowing your visitors to report to you how the
scripts work, if they had any problems, and if they
think that it makes your site better.
